Why do some jurisdictions attract capital, expertise and wealth, while others see them move elsewhere?
This question has shaped much of my professional work and lies at the origin of LEGEX.
Law is not a neutral framework within which finance operates. It is an economic infrastructure in its own right, alongside physical and financial infrastructure.
The quality of a legal system — its stability, predictability, protection of property rights and effectiveness of governance — influences where capital chooses to locate and where it ultimately decides not to remain.
Founder
Edoardo Tamagnone is a lawyer, partner at Tamagnone Di Marco Avvocati Associati and founder of LEGEX.
His practice focuses on international taxation, wealth planning, tax litigation and cross-border structured finance. He has particular experience in wealth governance structures — including trusts, holding companies and Italian "società semplice" — and in the intergenerational transfer of family businesses and private wealth.
He is qualified to appear before Italy’s higher courts, including the Supreme Court of Cassation, the Council of State and the Constitutional Court. His academic and professional training, undertaken in Turin, Strasbourg and Norway, combines tax law, trust law and wealth management with a background in law and international relations. This multidisciplinary perspective also informs the LEGEX method.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cavour Foundation and has previously held institutional positions at the Giovanni Agnelli National Automobile Museum and the University Institute of European Studies. His career therefore connects legal practice with a sustained commitment to institutions and to the cultural heritage of the region.
LEGEX emerged from this combination of technical experience and institutional perspective: an interpretation of law grounded in daily work with investors, families and institutions, rather than in theory alone.
